What do speedy zombies run for? GAAAAAAAAAINS! Dress the part during the Zombie Half Marathon, or boost your finish time by imagining yourself fleeing from flesh-eating monsters.
Hosted annually by the Anchorage Running Club, this late-season race is perfect for those looking for a once-in-a-lifetime Halloween runcation. For those running locally, this race is part of the Sleeping Lady Challenge, where runners are challenged to participate in at least 3 out of the Club’s 6 events.
The point-to-point course is a scenic trail run, covering Goose Lake to Kincaid. Runners begin following along the West Chester Creek Lagoon before moving onto the coastal trail to Kincaid Chalet. Take note that the race is held regardless of weather and trail conditions, according to organizers—so be prepared for conditions that may be cold and wet!
Water is available along the course at miles 4 and 8, but participants are encouraged to carry their own nutrition beyond that.
This race is walker friendly, with an early start option for those who need it. However, all participants must finish by 1:30 pm to be counted as an official finisher.
For those who would like to participate but can’t make it to Anchorage on race day, a virtual option is available, to be run at any point between October 5-13, 2024.
Take Note
There is no shuttle available to take runners from the finish line back to the start, so make sure to coordinate with your support person!
Race Weather & Climate
