Details
Formerly known as the Charlotte Covered Bridges Half Marathon, the
RaceVermont.com Half Marathon is described by race organizers as a
"challenging" back-country loop
course
through some of western Vermont's most scenic countryside. The
Charlotte Covered Bridges Half Marathon celebrated is 8th annual
running in 2009, welcoming just under 130 runners for last year's
event.
The loop course for the race takes runners alongside Charlotte's Lewis
Creek River for much of the race, and of course through many of the
area's signature covered bridges.
The race is limited to 300 participants, and starts and finishes at
Charlotte Central School, where those wishing to run (and who haven't
already signed up) can register on the day of the race as well. Runners
are asked to remain on the left side of the road throughout the race,
and to remember that vehicles have the right of way.
