Lace up your trail running shoes and get ready for a truly extraordinary experience – welcome to the inaugural G-Bar Ranch Ultra & Trail 1/2 Marathon! This event offers a 29-mile Ultramarathon and a Half Marathon, and it’s set to take place on the pristine grounds of the Grupe Family Ranch, a sprawling 9,000-acre private property.

This is no ordinary trail race – it’s a unique opportunity made possible by the generous Grupe family, who have opened their property to the Pacific Coast Trail Runs community. G-Bar Ranch, the namesake of the event, takes its title from the historic livestock brand associated with the ranch. It’s important to clarify that it’s not named after Greg, the race director, who may enjoy open bars at his events – this is about the ranch’s legacy.

The G-Bar Ranch is home to the second oldest livestock brand in California, and its history is steeped in cattle ranching, hunting, and outdoor education. For many locals, this property holds special memories, as they likely spent their teenage and young adult years working on these very grounds.

As a participant in the G-Bar Ranch Ultra & Trail 1/2 Marathon, you’re in for an incredible journey. The race course will take you through the untouched wilderness of the Grupe Family Ranch. You’ll traverse meadows, forests, and rugged terrain, all while experiencing the tranquility and natural beauty of this vast property.

What makes this year’s event even more special is its inaugural status. It’s the first time that trail runners will have the privilege of exploring the G-Bar Ranch in an official race capacity. You’ll be part of history, inaugurating a new era of trail running in this pristine location.

Whether you’re an experienced ultramarathoner or a newbie looking for a unique adventure, this event caters to everyone. The beauty of the Grupe Family Ranch and the historical significance of the G-Bar brand create a unique backdrop for an unforgettable day of trail running.

In a world where many trails have been explored, this race offers a chance to tread on new ground, forging a connection between the past and the present, and between the runners and the land. It’s an opportunity to make history and to run where few have run before.

So, get ready to be part of something truly special – the inaugural G-Bar Ranch Ultra & Trail 1/2 Marathon. The Grupe Family Ranch awaits your footsteps, and the memories you create on this day will become part of the legacy of this remarkable property.
