With a flat course and ideal temperatures, Boston or Bust is also historically known for being the final window of qualification for the Boston Marathon the following April. As a great event to peak and PR for the Boston Marathon, this race has become a favourite amongst competitors and is now definitively ranked #1 for the fastest course in Alabama.
Starting and finishing at the Ditto Landing Marina on 293 Ditto Landing Rd SE, this fast and flat course takes runners along the Aldridge Creek Greenway for its entire duration of 13.1 miles as an up-and-back style half marathon.
Before landing feet on Aldridge Creek Greenway at half a mile in, however, runners will take an immediate left onto W Eugene Morgan Road. Once on Aldridge Creek Greenway, runners continue forth until reaching the fork in the road leading to Bailey Cove Road SE.
It’s here where runners turn around, remaining on Aldridge Creek Road back toward the start/finish line of Ditto Landing Marina.
With a generous cut-off time of five (5) hours and an even more generous post-race after party, the Boston or Bust isn’t only popular amongst Boston Marathon Competitors but community fun-runners too!
All participants can expect complimentary food and drink, live musical entertainment at the Ditto Landing Marina Pavilion, a commemorative shirt at registration, and of course, a decorative winner’s medal.
