As part of the power-packed Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend, the 13.1 distance is the longest offered during the event. Runners will take part of a magical weekend hosted by Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. Participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite superhero and add even more fun to the colorful race. Entertainment throughout the course will keep runners engaged and happy as they tackle the half marathon distance.
The course first takes runners through California Adventure Park, a celebration of California’s storied past and exciting future. Opened in 2001, this theme park is the second built as part of the Disneyland Resort complex. Once through California Adventure Park and its seven districts, runners will then continue onto Disneyland Park, where the classic rides such as Splash Mountain and Space Mountain offer unique and fun backdrops to a half marathon.
After visiting Mickey and Minnie at Disneyland Park, runners will continue along the streets of the surrounding areas and head towards Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. Once at the Paradise Pier, it is time to find the energy for the final kick as the course heads towards the Disneyland Hotel for the finish.
Runners crossing the finish line will receive an Avengers Super Heroes Finisher Medal and be able to enjoy post-race refreshments. The fastest superheroes can vie for one of the awards given out for the top 3 overall men and women, top 3 men and women wheelchair finishers, and the top male and female masters.
Race Weather & Climate
Anaheim maintains a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters. Average November temperatures feature highs in the mid-70’s and lows in the 50’s. Race day (November 15th) temperatures average 73°F for the high and 50°F for the low. Only 1.09 inches of rain falls on average in November in Anaheim so a rain jacket is likely not necessary.
On race day (Nov. 15), the average low is 51ºF and the average high is 74ºF.
