Overview

Returning on September 4–7, 2025, at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA, this spooky‑themed runDisney event offers a magical lineup: a 5K hosted by Ursula, a 10K featuring Cruella de Vil, and the main event — a half marathon led by Maleficent.

Course & Atmosphere
The half marathon covers 13.1 miles through both Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, and surrounding streets — including a memorable stretch through Angel Stadium. Finishers cross at Goofy’s Sky School near Pixar Pier. Runners encounter Disney villains, Halloween-accented decor (enchanted projections on the Matterhorn, “it’s a small world,” and the castle), and entertainment throughout.

Timing & Logistics
Half Marathon: Sunday, Sept 7 (5 AM start).
10K: Saturday, Sept 6.
5K: Friday, Sept 5.
A “Chills & Thrills” Challenge combines the 10K and half marathon over two days.
Staging begins early (~3–4 AM, parking structure opens), especially for resort guests on early-morning shuttles. Corral placements require proof of time under 2:30 for pacing accuracy.

Cost & Inclusions
5K: ~$130
10K: ~$185
Half Marathon: ~$270 (increasing to ~$280 after April 21)
Chills & Thrills Challenge (10K + Half): $469.99
Registration gifts include themed medals, shirts, bibs, downloadable certificates, race-day park entertainment, on-course and post-race refreshments, and unlimited PhotoPass downloads.

Unique Perks
– Race through both parks and Angel Stadium, a scenic departure from traditional city routes.
– Festive Halloween ambiance with projections, character sightings, and villain themes.
Nocturnal logistics: Expect early wake-ups (~3–4 AM) due to road closures and staging procedures.

Runner Insights

On Reddit, users express enthusiasm about accessing unique venues:

“At least we get to run through the stadium this time.”
“Yes. It will definitely add something for that last 7 miles stretch.”

Participants also note noticeable elevation shifts at stadium approaches and certain park segments, though the overall course remains flat.

What Sets This Race Apart
It’s an immersive “runcation” experience—blending beloved Disneyland resorts, villain-themed entertainment, early-morning magic, and exclusive venues like Angel Stadium. A great choice whether you’re hunting for a PR, building a unique bucket list experience, or celebrating Halloween with family in a runDisney setting.
