Sunday, June 3, 2023 • Amesbury, MA • Course Map

2023 marks the 9th annual Earth Rock Run Half Marathon, taking runners along the countryside of northeastern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire.

The half marathon course begins and ends at Lower Millyard in downtown Amesbury, and is a loop course that takes runners through Amesbury, then crosses the border into New Hampshire and through the small towns of South Hampton and Newton. The majority of the course is run on paved and tree-lined roads that show off the beauty of the region while providing some shade on the sunniest of days.

While the course has some hills, most of the hills are small rolling hills, with one steady incline for the first three miles of the race.

After the race, runners are encouraged to stay for the post-race events, including two free beers for each runner (over drinking age, of course) and live music, both on the course and at the post-race party.

Race Weather & Climate

Located in northeastern Massachusetts, Amesbury experiences cool to mild weather in early June. As Amesbury receives moderate rainfall all year long, with just over 2 inches on average for the month of June, runners are advised to prepare for wet weather.

On race day (June 3), the average low is 43ºF and the average high is 68ºF.
