The half marathon race will start at Big Mountain, overlooking Salt Lake City, to its west, but the course will take runners east to East Canyon Reservoir, finishing in Morgan, Utah. While on the course, runners will enjoy views of tall pine trees, towering mountains and the great landscapes and farmlands of Morgan Valley.
For marathon participants, the race is a gradual descent into Morgan Valley with about 95% of the course being downhill and 2500 feet of decline. The race is also a Boston Qualifier for those interested. The half marathon course will start near the East Canyon Reservoir and like the full marathon course, is primarily downhill.
Runners will see incredible views of red rock formations, farmland, great red barns and endless fields just before harvest time.
Sweeps of the course will begin at 6 hours for the marathon, but aid stations will be open until 7 hours from the start. For the half marathon, runners must meet the cutoff time of 5.5 hours.
All races will include a technical gender specific race shirt, a high end finisher medal, and a finish area party. Overall trophies will be given out as well as age group medals.
