The Ellerbe Marathon, previously known as Ellerbe Springs Marathon, takes place in Ellerbe, NC, and has a half and full marathon. The race starts at the Ellerbe Rescue Squad building on Sunset Avenue.
The course, a 13.1-mile loop, is paved and traverses the surrounding country roads on rolling and hilly terrain. Marathoners complete the loop twice, and the route closes in 9 hours. Both marathon and half marathon courses hold USATF certification. There is a post-race lunch of vegetarian soup and hot cheese quesadillas.
