Set for its 10th annual running through the streets of the “Scenic City,” the Erlanger Health System Chattanooga Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay and Classic 150 5K features a series of running events spread out over all three days of the first weekend in March, culminating with the 13.1-mile and 26.2-mile events on Sunday.

Runners will start the half and full marathons – which are sponsored by Erlanger Health System – at the First Tennessee Pavilion in downtown Chattanooga, just steps from Finely Stadium, home of the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga (UTC) football team. From there, the course weaves its way toward the riverfront and Riverfront Parkway. Along this stretch, runners can expect to climb and descend a few hills as they make their way north toward the riverwalk and Ross’s Landing Park, where you’ll pass by the gorgeous, stark glass structures that make up the aquarium, which is home to some 12,000 animals, from sea, river, lake and land. The course continues northward, crossing both Veterans Bridge and Walnut Street Bridge, the UTC campus, and around the Chattanooga National Cemetery — the final resting place for U.S. veterans who have served our country — before heading back to Finley Stadium and crossing the finish line.
