Making its annual running in March 2024, the Griffith Park Trail races will feature a 50K, marathon, and half marathon around the beautiful Griffith Park in Los Angeles. The course is an out ab back that will take runners around some of the most beautiful landmarks in the park, featuring a mix of both single track and double track fire roads. Last years running saw over 240 runners cross the finish line in the half marathon alone.

Runners will start the race just a few feet below the old zoo in a big grass area. They will then follow the trail markings from the starting line to the single track trail. Following the upper Old Zoo T rail, runners will continue for about 3/4 mile where they will hit their first hill. Volunteers will guide runners onto the wooden steps down to the atrium single track trail which they will follow for 1/4 mile to lower beacon trail and the first aid station.

At around the 1 mile mark, runners will turn right onto Coolidge trail, and follow that for a mile, until the course meets a 5 way intersection. Here, runners will make a sharp left and follow the trail to the Joe Klass water station. The bulk of the race will then consist of miles on Vista Del Valle Drive and the Riverside trail. Passing Dante’s view at mile 6.6, runners will hit the turnaround spot and take the same course back along the Riverside trail, Coolidge trail and finally the Old Zoo trail to the finish line at the big grass area under the Old Zoo. The 50K kicks off race day at 6:00 AM, followed by the full marathon at 7:00 AM and the half marathon at 7:30 AM. Half marathon runners will have until 2:00 PM to finish the course, while runners in the 50K and marathon will have until 3:30 PM to finish their respective races.
