Overview

Launched by CaliFlow Runs, this creatively themed event lands in Long Beach, CA on Sunday, August 10, 2025—a playful nod to Douglas Adams’s Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy with distances fitting for every runner ⚡. Whether you’re tackling the 5K (“The Infinite Improbability Run”), 10K (“Don’t Panic”), or the half marathon (“Ultimate Question Half Marathon”), expect a flat, USATF‑certified seaside course perfect for fast times or fun-paced running.

The event description invites participants to:

“Grab your towel, lace up… whether escaping Vogons or just here for a good time, we’ve got the race for you!”

Runners will set off from Ocean Blvd, following a scenic out‑and‑back route with ocean views, mild sea breezes, and smooth pavement—ideal for chase-your-PR but lighthearted enough for casual enjoyment. The race offers free race‑day photos, downloadable finish certificates, chip timing, and whimsical branding that includes galactic vibes and the iconic “Don’t Panic” slogan.

Benefits extend beyond the finish line: volunteers earn complimentary entries, underscoring the event’s community-first spirit. While competitive runners are welcome, the real draw is the theme—including branded bibs, community energy, and a relaxed yet enthusiastic atmosphere.

Course Description

Long Beach is where we live, work, and play—and this course is close to our hearts. After 15+ years of running along this beach path, we’ve made memories on nearly every mile.

It’s flat, fast, and incredibly scenic, with ocean views, palm trees, and that unbeatable coastal breeze.
You’ll find easy parking, plenty of restrooms, and a friendly layout:

5K = 1 loop
10K = 2 loops
Half Marathon = 3 loops
It’s the perfect mix of good vibes, smooth logistics, and race-day magic.
