Gear up for an exhilarating day of sportsmanship and competition as Team Holloman opens its gates to the public in Alamogordo and surrounding areas. Get ready to be part of the action at Holloman Ace of Races, an event that caters to seasoned athletes and those beginning their fitness journey alike.
The event offers a diverse range of activities, including the Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K, and the Kids Dash. No matter your fitness level, there’s an event tailored just for you. Join the excitement and contribute to a good cause – all proceeds from registration will support the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation fund, benefiting Holloman AFB Airmen and their families.
Immerse yourself in a picturesque course set between the majestic Sacramento Mountains and the shimmering gypsum dunes of White Sands National Park. Along the route, you’ll encounter points of Air Force history, adding a unique and historical dimension to your race experience. With a minimal elevation gain ranging from 52 to 65 feet, the course offers a notably flat terrain on paved roads, making it an ideal setting for your first or fastest 26.2, 13.1, or 3.1 miles.
As you approach the finish line, enjoy the special touch of running through static aircraft and equipment on display, showcasing the base’s unique mission. In a military cadence, the race concludes with a “left, right, left” to cap off the last half mile.
But the excitement doesn’t end there! After crossing the finish line, the celebration continues with family, friends, and fellow participants just across the street. The post-race event promises entertainment, food, and an opportunity to bask in the camaraderie of your accomplishment. Don’t miss out on the inaugural marathon at Holloman AFB – join us for a day of fitness, fun, and community support!
