Overview

Sunday, March 5, 2017 • Fort Myers, FL

What comes to mind when you think of Hooters? Be prepared to add running to that list with the Hooters Half Marathon & Relay, which celebrates its 10th annual running in 2017 at its Fort Myers, Florida location.

The Hooters Half Marathon starts and finishes at the Hooters on Cleveland Avenue in Fort Myers, taking runners along the Caloosahatchee River and the scenic views that the area neighborhoods provide.

After crossing the Edison Bridge, runners cross the bridge again and start making their way back to Hooters, this time passing the City of Palms Park and running down Broadway (without the musicals) before crossing the finish line at Hooters. The post-race party features live music, beer, and of course, wings for all runners to celebrate their achievements.

The event also hosts a two-person relay for runners who don’t feel ready for the full half-marathon course. Each runner in the relay pair runs a little over 6.5 miles along the half marathon course.

Race Weather & Climate

Like much of southern Florida, Fort Myers sees pleasant weather all year long, with warm weather in early March and just under 2.75″ of rain for the month on average.

On race day (Mar. 5), the average low is 58ºF and the average high is 79ºF.
