Get ready for Easter with the 9th annual Hop Hop Half Marathon, 10K & 5K, Portland’s only Easter-themed event. Hosted by local running shoe store Foot Traffic, the event takes place on a fun, flat course along the Columbia River the day before Easter Sunday.
The Hop Hop Half Marathon starts and finishes near Portland’s Kliever Armory, heading south for one mile along NE 33rd Avenue before heading north again and running most of the course along the Marine Drive Bike Path. This route leads runners along the Columbia River, providing views of Mount Hood along the way, before turning around at the 205 bridge and returning to the finish line along the same route. Since the route goes around Portland International Airport, who knows — runners might see a plane taking off or landing as well.
The event after-party features Easter-themed celebrations, including live music, Easter brunch snacks like cinnamon rolls and eggs, Easter egg painting, and mimosas for participants.
