In honour of a friend, brother, son, and father Garrett Yeager, the Hope for the Holidays Half Marathon is a fundraiser event that gives all proceeds to the Special Olympics of Batesville as well as a local hunger charity in support of the homeless.
If you’re interested in supporting the community while also supporting yourself in an athletic pursuit, the Hope for the Holidays Half Marathon is a great event to be a part of. Scenic Views. Giving runners a little bit of everything, the Hope for the Holidays Half Marathon is a scenic course comprising beautiful backcountry roads, awe-inspiring mountainous views of Eagle Mountain, and campus landscapes of Lyon College. As for the city of Batesville, the largest city of Independence County, Arkansas, visitors can expect both rural and urban landscapes, with tons to do, both historical and modern to activities to choose from!

Starting at 8:00 a.m. sharp, the Hope for the Holidays Half Marathon will kick runners off along Eagle Mountain Drive before turning around on South Ridge. Following is a left onto Harrison Street and a right onto 22nd Street before reaching mile 5. Onward, it’s a few twists and turns through Miller Creek Road where runners will remain until mile 10. At this inflection point, runners will pursue the course’s final leg along Mack Street before reaching Harrison Street for the final stretch. The half marathon ends where it all started back on Eagle Mountain Drive. Walking away with both a finisher’s medal and race-themed hoodie, the Hope for the Holidays Half Marathon is a great holiday event to take part in, not merely to support the community but to have fun while doing so!
