Overview
As the final half-marathon race of the Valley Half Marathon Series, the Judgement Day Half Marathon and 5k is a challenging but approachable half-marathon course for all fitness levels.
Scenic Views, Trail Runners, Road Runners. This fast and flat half-marathon course takes runners along a compilation of dirt roads, gravel trails, grassy fields, and paved paths along Kern River and the Panorama Vista Preserve.
Starting and finishing at the historical Sam Lynn Ball Park on 4009 Chester Avenue, runners will begin by running out the back gate of the park and heading east along the Kern River Trail system.
Along 3.5 miles of looping dirt trail a part of the Panorama Vista Preserve, runners will ultimately find themselves back on the Kern River Trail. Following, runners persist along the Alfred Harrell Highway before climbing the Panorama Bluffs.
Course Description
Finally, runners continue throughout Panorama Park, catching their breath after the climb, and enjoying beautiful vista views before reaching the finish line back at Sam Lynn Ballpark.
With several hydration aid stations throughout this course, all participants can arrive assured that they’ll be well-fuelled for the race. After the race, all finishers will be awarded a finisher’s medal and complimented with a free hot breakfast.
Apart from the free breakfast, there will also be a 21+ beer garden to celebrate in, along with a DJ and other fun experiences. The half marathon has a 3-hour 30-minute cut-off time.
