Overview

Dive into a prehistoric-themed running adventure with the Jurassic Jaunt, set for Sunday, September 21, 2025, in Long Beach at 2000 Ocean Ave. Hosted by High Tide Runs, this event includes a 5K, 10K, 10-mile, and a USATF‑certified half marathon—all laid out on a family-friendly, flat, seaside course that encourages fun dinosaur-themed costumes and nostalgia.

Runners aiming for the half marathon begin at 7:00 AM PDT, completing two loops of the 5-mile route plus one 5K loop; 10-mile runners follow a similar layout. The 5K and 10K begin at 7:30 AM, with all races concluding by 10:20 AM (3 h 20 min cutoff for half and 10-mile). An early start is available for half marathoners needing extra time, though these participants are excluded from awards.

The out-and-back layout is well-marked and fully chip-timed, with hydration stations and restroom access along the route. Volunteers handle bib pickup (from 6:20 AM) and finish‑line support, ensuring a smooth experience.

Expect fun atmospherics—roar into the race in dinosaur garb if you like—and a lively vibe suited to all levels. Costumes aren’t required but add a festive touch, while awards are reserved for competitive runners.

More about the Course
The beach path is an open course, so you will encounter others using it. When we start the race, please stay on the right side of the beach path. The right side is for pedestrians and the left side is for cyclists.

We will have tent set up west of the Finish Line for spectators to watch you run. See map at the bottom of this email. We do not have shade or seating in the festival area for them.

On-Course Support: A fully stocked water station is located at the Belmont Pier. The finish line will also have an aid station stocked with water, gatorade, gels, and fruit snacks. We have a first aid kit at each station and all High Tides Crew Members have received CPR training. The turns are clearly marked with chalk, a runner turn sign, and a flag
