The early summer of 2020 will bring the 11th annual running of Ohio’s Lake Health Hill Yeah! Half Marathon, after a move in recent years from Concord Township to nearby Kirtland, where it is now run on an out-and-back loop route that starts and finishes at the Lake Metroparks on Euclid-Chardon Road.

Formerly known as the Concord Distance Classic, the race’s typically brings out between 900 and 1000 runners to cross the finish line each year, including 270 runners in the half marathon.

The event will consist of both a half marathon and a relay, which start and finish in the Lake Metroparks Farmpark. From there, the course heads out on a clockwise loop around the Kirtland area, with stretches through both the Chapin Forest Reservation and the Penitentiary Glen Reservation parks, followed by long straightaways down Kirtland-Chardon Road and Sperry Road.

Coming to the 10 mile mark, the run turns off the main road and heads onto a flat and downhill road for the last 3 miles. The run finishes in the park where it started.

All half marathon finishers will receive a finisher’s medal, and all participants will also receive a wicking shirt, as well as nice goodie bags. Plenty of door prizes will be available during the awards ceremony, and there will be prize money for the elite runners.
