Saturday, June 20, 2020 – Sunday, June 21, 2020 • Richmond, CA • Course Map

Note: The 2020 race is a virtual event.

Fast, flat, and along the shoreline of the San Francisco Bay, the Marina Bay Half Marathon is a must-do summer race in Richmond, California. This June race is in a perfect place to escape the summer heat as the Bay Area offers mild weather year round. The loop course of the Marina Bay Half Marathon provides scenic views of the water for nearly the entire way.

Runners start and finish at the Craneway Pavilion, next to Harbor Bay. The course takes runners along Harbor Way South, Hall Avenue, and Marina Way South all in the first mile. As runners approach the first mile marker, they will continue on to the San Francisco Bay Trail. The second mile travels along the shoreline of the Inner Harbor Basin and through Marina Park.

Beyond the 3rd mile marker, runners take a quick pass through Barbara and Jay Vincent Park and then head to an out and back section along Marina Bay Parkway as they finish their fourth mile. The course heads back to the San Francisco Bay Trail and travels along the water crossing mile markers 5 and 6. Once runners reach mile marker 7, they turn back and begin to make their way back for the second half of the race.

After finishing mile 8, runners will take a right when the trail splits and travel along an out-and-back section throughout miles 8 and part of 9. The course meets again at approximately 9.5 miles into the race and runners will follow the same route back to the finish line.

The course does feature a few small elevation changes, but it never climbs higher than 45 feet. There are a few sharp turns with the out-and-back sections, however, this course is a great opportunity for runners to set a summer PR.

Race Weather & Climate
