Beginning in Medina Square, the half marathon takes runners north of downtown Medina through tree-lined neighborhoods for the first three miles. Mile 3 marks the right turn onto East Reagan Parkway, leading runners past Reagan and Huffman Parks toward Lake Medina. This section of the course is run along the lake with gorgeous water views.
After leaving the lake and heading back on the road again toward the halfway point, the second half of the course begins. This half of the course is almost all uphill and weaves its way through residential neighborhoods before crossing the finish line at Medina Square.
Walkers are welcome on the course in the competitive walking division; however, runners must finish the course in 3 hours, 20 minutes. Race organizers note that Medina is not a flat area, and the second half of the course is a steady incline.
