Kick off your New Year right with a half marathon or 10K in Forest Grove, Oregon, home to the Oregon Road Runners Club Y2K race.

Located in the Tualatin Valley and home to Pacific University, Forest Grove is home to just over 21,000 people who live in just under 6 square miles of northwestern Oregon. Home to one of the largest giant sequoia trees of the state of Oregon, runners can expect to run through green pastures, down rural roads with the Coast Range often in sight.

Both the half marathon and the 10K will start at Tom McCall East/West school at 1341 Pacific ave. After starting, runners will head onto 18th Ave. for the first mile before turning onto Highway 47 at the 2 mile marker and Stringtown Rd. for the next mile and a half. Here the 10K and half will split, with the half marathon runners taking a left onto Dilley Rd. and following Plumlee Rd. for miles 5 and 6. At mile 6, runners will turn right onto Carpenter Creek Rd. before rejoining Stringtown Rd for an out and back for 4.5 miles. At Richery Rd. racers will take a left for the final two miles back to the start/finish line.

Water and Gatorade can be expected at miles 2, 4, 6, 7.5, 9.5 and 11.5 for the half marathon as well as Gu and snacks available at later aid stations.

At the post-race part, finishers can expect a pancake breakfast inside and watch the awards ceremony where plaques will be aware to the overall male and female winners of the half and 10K. The top five finishers in each five year age group will also earn ribbons.

Included in the half marathon fee is a custom-designed Y2K stadium blanket and a discount is given to all ORRC members who register.
