The Peak View Half Marathon, part of Happy Trails Running’s innovative Corner Canyon Trail Series, kicks off on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 6:00 AM MDT from the Peak View Trailhead in Draper. Designed for trail lovers who crave both challenge and scenic beauty, the 13.1‑mile route ascends 1,822 ft, weaving through lush trails, canyon ridges, and sweeping views of Corner Canyon.
A Trail Race Unlike Any Other
Rather than a traditional mass start, this event uses a GPS-based format via RideWithGPS. Participants can run or hike the designated route independently anytime between May 1 and October 31, 2025. For those seeking camaraderie, a group run led by the race director begins on race day at the trailhead at 6:00 AM.
The Course & Experience
The run unfolds across Corner Canyon’s network of foot‑traffic-only trails. Highlights include dense greenery, canyon walls, tree‑tunnel vistas, and the climactic Potato Hill and Lupine Meadows sections. Scattered bathroom and water access points appear near the Coyote Hollow (mile 7), Potato Hill (mile 9), and Silver Flower (mile 11.5) trailheads.
Why It Stands Out
This event offers flexibility and access to Utah’s scenic Corner Canyon trails—normally off-limits to races—while maintaining trail etiquette and safety. With GPS routing, finisher medals, tech shirts, and competitive segment leaderboards, it combines indie adventure with organized structure. There’s also a series-wide leaderboard for completing all three courses (Bonneville, Peak View, Maple Hollow), and cash-back referral bonuses.
