Participants can choose between two challenging course options: a 13-mile race or a shorter 5-mile race. The single-loop course takes you on an exhilarating journey over steep hills, through enchanting woods, and past scenic ponds, boasting approximately 1,000 feet of elevation gain with technical single-track sections. While it may be one of the most demanding trail races around, it’s also hailed as one of the most enjoyable.
Secure your spot in this epic trail race with registration fees set at $40 for the 13-mile distance and $30 for the 5-miler. Both races kick off at 9 am. Act fast, as prices for both races will increase by $5 after August 1, 2023.
What makes this race even more special is that your registration fee directly contributes to Midcoast Conservancy’s mission of protecting and restoring vital lands and waters. As one of the largest conservation organizations in Maine, Midcoast Conservancy has conserved over 14,000 acres of land, opened 56 preserves to the public, safeguarded three watersheds, and garnered support from 1,600+ members.
Be aware that registration closes one week before the race, and this event is capped at 125 entrants with a waitlist. There will be no day-of registration, so plan ahead. Prizes await overall and age group winners, and participants can look forward to post-race refreshments, including beer from Sheepscot Brewing, as well as fruit and snacks.
If you want to take home a piece of the experience, a limited number of long-sleeve technical shirts will be available for purchase on the day of the race for $15 (cash only). Keep in mind that there are no refunds or transfers, so commit to the challenge and immerse yourself in the beauty of Hidden Valley Nature Center on race day. Get ready to push your limits, conquer the trails, and support the vital conservation efforts of Midcoast Conservancy.
