This event has been a beloved tradition for years, bringing together participants from all over to pledge support for Wounded Warriors and Homeless Veterans. The town of Lewes provides the perfect location for this scenic race, with its quaint charm and stunning coastline.

Course Description
The Half Marathon Challenge is the highlight of the event and will truly test your endurance. The course begins at Parade Field in Cape Henlopen State Park, where you’ll race on hardened surfaces and crushed gravel trails. From there, you’ll venture onto 2.6 miles of beach sand. This is meant to give racers the feel of what it’s like to march on desert sands in the Middle East – something faced by so many of our combat veterans. This section of the course is undoubtedly the most challenging, both physically and mentally, but as you push through, remember the sacrifices made by our deployed women and men. You’ll then leave the beach environment and finish the remaining 5.25 miles back in the state park, passing by the historic Fort Miles Barracks.
