Overview

The Resolution Jump Start Half Marathon in Long Beach, California, is a festive coastal race held annually on January 1st. Organized by High Tide Runs, this event offers runners a unique opportunity to kick off the new year with a scenic run along the beach.

Participants can choose from multiple race distances—Half Marathon, 15K, 10K, and 5K—catering to a wide range of runners. The course is a flat, out-and-back route along the beach path, providing continuous ocean views and a refreshing sea breeze. The Half Marathon consists of three loops of approximately 4.36 miles each, making it ideal for those aiming for personal bests or enjoying a leisurely run.

The event emphasizes a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. All finishers receive a medal and a goodie bag, and free race day photos are posted on the organizer’s Facebook page. The race is stroller and walker-friendly, making it accessible to runners of all levels. With its combination of scenic beauty, community spirit, and well-executed race logistics, the Resolution Jump Start Half Marathon offers an exceptional racing experience for both local and visiting runners.
