The half marathon begins at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in downtown Cleveland and makes a loop course around downtown Cleveland. Spotting the landmarks starts almost immediately into the course as half marathoners past FirstEnergy Stadium, which has hosted the NFL’s Cleveland Browns since 1999.
A couple more left turns later, the course continues on Lakeside Avenue before continuing right along the outskirts of the Cleveland State University Campus.
The next section of the course takes place along Carnegie Avenue, and by the time runners make that next left turn onto Stokes Boulevard, the half marathon’s halfway point is within reach, just past the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.
Continuing north along Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive leads to the greenest portion of the course, with a wealth of gardens along the way.
Starting at mile 10, the remainder of the course is run along North Marginal Road and Lake Erie, providing lakefront views for much of the course’s last leg.
Half marathoners receive free admission to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after the event, so be sure to stay around and learn more about some of the greatest rock musicians while resting up.
The 2022 event includes a virtual option that you can run within a few days of the race.
