Sunday, May 31, 2015 • Williamsburg, VA • Course Map

On the last weekend of May, An Achievable Dream and Colonial Williamsburg will host the 5th annual Run for the Dream in Williamsburg, Virginia. Saturday is Armed Forces Day and will begin with the Fit to Run, Fit to Dream 8K Run/Walk honoring Wounded Warriors.

Sunday is the main event — the Run for the Dream Half Marathon. This year the race’s 8K will take place on Saturday, and it will also add the 5K distance, which will be run Friday evening.

The half marathon will start at the Colonial Williamsburg Regional Visitors Center, wind through the Historic Area of Colonial Williamsburg, and finish at the College of William & Mary’s Zable Stadium. The half marathon route will take runners down the Colonial Parkway toward Jamestown before returning to the City of Williamsburg and the Historic Area.

Proceeds from the Run for the Dream will go to An Achievable Dream, a nationally recognized K-12 school dedicated to the belief that all children can learn and succeed regardless of their socioeconomic backgrounds, and that education can break the cycle of poverty.

The race will also benefit the Wounded Warriors Programs, dedicated to assisting and advocating for the severely wounded, ill and injured members of the armed forces and for their families.
