Celebrating its 12th anniversary, the Wisconsin Trail Assail Series invites you to the Run From The Tax Man event, a unique and family-friendly run/walk held at Lapham Peak State Park in Delafield, WI. The course, marked distinctly with 12×12 turn arrows, tall course signs, and orange SCSE cones, eschews traditional trail tape for clear navigation without altering the natural beauty of Lapham Peak. Walkers are especially welcome, with the event ensuring accessibility for those who prefer to take the course at a more leisurely pace. While the walk division is timed, it emphasizes participation over competition, with no age group awards but the promise of receiving a finisher Woodle.
In 2024, a novel and sustainable twist enhances the event’s appeal: all finishers across all distances will receive a “Woodle” – a unique medal crafted from reclaimed wood by Ridgeway Woodworks. These eco-friendly awards not only serve as a distinctive memento but also feature a magnet on the back for easy display, with custom racks available for those who wish to showcase their achievements prominently. This initiative underscores the event’s commitment to environmental stewardship and offers participants a tangible, lasting reminder of their accomplishment.
The Run From The Tax Man supports the Silver Circle Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to aiding firefighters, police officers, veterans, and troops serving overseas.
