Overview

Sunday, March 20, 2016 • Pflugerville, TX

Set for its second annual running here among this small city in the Texas Hill Country region, just a short drive north from Austin, the Saint Pat’s Half Marathon adds a relay race for the first time this year, for an out-and-back loop race that starts at Lake Pflugerville Park.

Runners begin the race on the park roads just inside the 180-acre reservoir park, which supplies both drinking water to the area and makes for one of its most popular recreation spots, for swimming, jogging, canoeing, kayaking and boating.

From the starting line on the park road, runners head out onto a clockwise route that unfolds along Weiss Lane, Hodde Lane, Route 198 and 139, Englishman Lane, Cameron Road and Jesse Bohls Drive before bringing runners back to Lake Pflugerville for the race finish.

You’ll have 4 hours to finish the race — the starting time is 8:00 AM and the course closes at 12:00 noon — and you’ll get to enjoy a smaller field, as just over 70 runners crossed the finish line last year.

Race Weather & Climate

Located just north of Austin in the Texas Hill Country region, Pflugerville typically sees some of its mildest temperatures of the year in March, which has brought record temperatures here as low as 18ºF (in 1948) and as high as 98ºF (in 1971).

On race day (March 20), the average low is 52ºF and the average high is 74ºF.
