Overview

Set for Saturday, November 1, 2025, at East Walker Ranch Open Space in Placerita Canyon (Santa Clarita, CA), the Santa Clarita Trail Race offers four trail distance options: 5K, 10K, half marathon, and a challenging 28K.

As one of the region’s newest trail events from New Global Adventures—the same team behind the Valencia and Spacerock trail races—the Santa Clarita Trail Race boasts scenic single-track paths, steady climbs and descents, and views across the Santa Clarita Valley.

All races start at 7:00 AM PDT, with bib pickup available early the morning of the event (check-in begins at 6:00 AM) and an optional packet pickup the previous day. The course design uses two loops and out-and-back segments, clearly signed via color-coded flags—entry options include:

  • 5K (650 ft elevation gain)
  • 10K
  • Half Marathon
  • 28K with over 3,000 ft of climbing

Support stations (up to six) provide water, electrolytes, fruit, and ice; it’s a cupless event, so participants should bring their own bottle or cup. Aid and trail support are praised for their care and quality .

All finishers receive a tech shirt, finisher medal, downloadable certificate, and post-race refreshments (including a beer for participants over 21). Race-day photos are free, and age-group prizes honor top finishers.

Course Description

Ready to hit the trails? The Santa Clarita Trail Race offers four exciting distances—5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and 28K—taking you through the breathtaking golden hills of Santa Clarita, CA. Whether you’re new to trail running or looking for your next big challenge, there’s a course for you!

The race route is thoughtfully designed with five interconnected sections—featuring two loops and three out-and-back segments—that build with each longer distance. To keep you on track, every section is clearly marked with color-coded flags that match the course maps.

Expect a rewarding challenge. Elevation gains range from 650+ feet in the 5K to a leg-burning 3,000+ feet in the 28K. We highly recommend incorporating hill training in the weeks leading up to race day to prepare for the climbs and descents.

Below, you’ll find detailed course maps, elevation profiles, and key information for each distance. Taking a few moments to review the details will help you feel confident, prepared, and ready to make the most of your race day experience.

So gear up and get ready for an epic, fun-filled adventure on the trails!
