Slate Valley Scramble Half Marathon & 8k

Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 10, 2024, as Slate Valley Trails (SVT) presents the fifth annual Slate Valley Scramble trail run race and fundraiser! Trail enthusiasts of all ages are invited to participate in this exciting event, featuring an 8k and half-marathon, both held entirely on scenic single-track and double-track trails nestled in the picturesque landscape of southwestern Vermont. Following the main events, a free kids fun run will also be organized, encouraging families to come together and explore SVT’s trails.

Participants can expect a well-maintained course with variable terrain, winding through wooded areas and offering occasional glimpses of Vermont’s stunning “Slate Valley.” While both the 8k and half-marathon courses feature stretches of flat terrain and rolling hills, runners will encounter some challenging inclines and sustained climbs along the way. Despite the demanding terrain, the breathtaking views and serene surroundings make every step worth it.
