Overview

The Spacerock Trail Race Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k is a challenging and technical trail race comprising several key distances for all fitness levels to participate in.

Destination Race, Challenging Course, Trail Runners. Taking place in the world-famous Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park in Southern California, runners will journey through exotic trails featuring unique rock formations and canyons that’ll make you feel like you’re running on another planet.

Among the most popular features of the Spacerock Trail Race course is the infamous black hole tunnel under the 14 freeway, however, that’s only one of many spectacular features runners can expect to experience.

Considered one of the most challenging half marathon courses in the state with over 3200 feet of elevation gain, this course involves two separate loops that combine for a total of nearly 14 miles.

Course Description

During loop #1, runners will reach the first aid station before forking left onto the larger, more challenging loop throughout the canyon. It’s then onto the aforementioned black hole tunnel where, following, runners will embark on the mountain section of the course.
After passing three more aid stations, runners will return to the PCT trail system that heads back toward the start line to finish the race.
All runners will receive a gender-specific race shirt, a runners handbook, and a goodie bag comprising several cool surprises. For the finishers of the group, you can expect a collectible finisher’s medal, and depending on your standing, special awards for top finishers.
