SRG Half Marathon and 5 Miler

Spring Ahead into the season with a race like no other! Join the Spring Ahead 1/2 & 5, benefiting Schuylkill River Greenways, on Sunday, March 10th, 2024, at Union Township’s Union Meadows recreation complex. Take on the flat and fast half marathon or challenge yourself with the ELEVATION CHALLENGE 5-miler up the Switchback Trail. The race begins at 10 am, perfectly aligned with the day clocks “spring ahead.”

The half-marathon course loops around the Berm Trail, then follows the Schuylkill River Trail (SRT) to Douglassville and back. Meanwhile, the five-mile course starts on the SRT, veering off at 1/2 a mile for a two-mile climb to the Switchback Trail’s tippity top (and back down).

All runners registering by 2/21 will receive a unique race-themed T-shirt, while half-marathon finishers will earn an artist-designed finishers medal. Awards await the top three overall male and female participants, as well as the top three in various age groups. Winners will receive engraved plates to attach to their finishers medals.

Post-race, celebrate your achievements with a free beer at the Fork & Ale for all runners over 21. Remember, your participation supports a good cause – a portion of your registration fee and 100% of all donations contribute to Schuylkill River Greenways.
