Overview

Saturday, August 23, 2025, the Strider Half Marathon returns to Estabrook Park in Milwaukee, organized by the Badgerland Striders Running Club, one of the area’s oldest and most active running organizations.

🏃 Course Overview & Atmosphere

Starting at 7:00 AM CDT, the half marathon begins and ends at the lively Estabrook Park Beer Garden. Runners first complete a loop through shaded park trails before transitioning onto the scenic Oak Leaf Trail, a paved bike path cutting through Milwaukee’s leafy northwest neighborhoods. The out-and-back layout offers shade, gentle terrain, and a refreshing breeze along the Oak Leaf Trail. The finish ushers runners back into the beer garden for a hot breakfast, live music, beverages (including beer), and community celebration.

🌟 What Makes It Stand Out

Capped at 1,000 runners, this boutique event balances urban accessibility with a strong local vibe. It’s ideal for late-summer training, with professional-level logistics, well-spaced aid stations, finisher medals, and age-group awards. The post-race party atmosphere—complete with food, drink, and music—elevates it beyond a typical race, making it a destination for both competitive runners and fun participants.

The Strider Half Marathon combines the beauty of Milwaukee’s Estabrook Park and Oak Leaf Trail with a festive beer-garden post-race celebration. With capped field size, flat and shaded course, and excellent runner support, it’s a standout late-summer half marathon—perfect for runners chasing PRs, community atmosphere, and a beer at the finish line.
