A challenging half-marathon trail race complete with downed trees, rocks, muddy surfaces, tree stumps and roots, and wild forest creatures, the race known as The Dam Half gets its name from the dam in the center of R.B. Winter State Park where the race takes place, just outside the town of Mifflinburg in central Pennsylvania.
Open to runners only, the event welcomed more than 150 participants for the 2007 running of the race, which organizers say “is sure to leave your legs screaming for mercy” thanks to the 2,000 feet of elevation gain.
