The Skippo is a beloved trail race held in Ballwin, MO’s Castlewood State Park and held in honor of Skip “Skippo” MacDowell, a local trail running enthusiast known for his dedication to maintaining the park’s trails.
At MacDowell’s behest, the Skippo was designed to welcome runners of all levels, from beginners to seasoned athletes, by offering distances of 10K, 20K, and 30K. This inclusivity has transformed the Skippo into a weekend-long celebration of trail running.
The courses traverse creeks, scenic views, railroad tracks, and more. There is a cutoff time for all events of five hours.
