Set for its 2nd annual running along the streets of this city in San Diego County, Calif., just a few miles off the Pacific coastline, the Vista Beer Run takes runners on an out-and-back run through the Vista Industrial Park, where they’ll pass by a dozen different breweries and enjoy beer from several local craft breweries when they get to the finish line.
The race begins in Buena Vista Park — the starting location is 2151 Shadowridge Drive, and you’ll reach the starting line just off Shadowridge. From there, the course makes its way first along the trails that wind through the park, and then onto the residential streets of the neighborhood across Melrose Drive.
Once you make it into the neighborhoods, the course turns south and heads into the Vista Industrial Park, the stretch where you’ll pass by brewery after brewery as you run an overall uphill from the start to the half-way point, along Commerce Way.
After you make the turn and head back onto La Mirada Drive, the course retraces your steps along the route you’ve just run, all the way back to Buena Vista Park where the finish line lies.
There’s also a 5K if you’re not up for 13.1 miles — you’ll receive a custom “bottle opener” finisher’s medal when you cross the finish line, and both half marathon and 5K runners will receive tech t-shirts.

Race Weather & Climate
Located about 45 minutes north of San Diego in Southern California, Vista typically sees some of its mildest and driest weather of the year in late September, when temperatures average between the low 60s and the low 80s, and rainfall totals average under half an inch for the month.
On race day (Sep. 30), the average low is 59ºF and the average high is 81ºF.
