Runners follow a point-to-point course for the half marathon, which starts east of the city in nearby Mead at Kinzua Beach, near Kinzua Bay on the Allegheny Reservoir. From there, runners head west along Kinzua Road (Highway 59) for the first four miles of the race, which roughly parallels the river as it heads toward Warren. Around mile four, the course crosses the Kinzua Dam and continues west along the other side of the river.
The race keeps runners along the river nearly all the way until they pass the mile 12 marker, where they head into the city toward the finish line at the YMCA.
Prizes will be awarded for the first runner to reach Kinzua Dam (which occurs shortly after the mile 4 marker), for the first male and female finishers, and for the top three overall finishers in each division. A smaller race as far as the number of participants go, the SuperKwik Challenge guarantees long-sleeved race t-shirts for runners who pre-register.
The scheduled starting time for the race is 9:00 AM, and runners will need to arrive at the Warren County YMCA to board the shuttle bus to the starting line at 8:15 AM.
