Introducing the ninth (9th) annual Whiskey Basin Trail Runs; an epic Arizona trail event offering participants the options of a 91k, 60k, 33k, half marathon, and 10k through the beautiful city of Prescott, Arizona. Often proclaimed as the most difficult and challenging, yet most beautiful and unexpected run they’ve ever participated in, the Whiskey Basin Trail Half Marathon offers runners a variety of awe-inspiring scenery throughout the winding trails of Prescott, highlighting the Granite Dells and Watson Lake as the two primary landmarks to be enjoyed. .

Starting and finishing in Watson Lake Park (3101 Watson Lake Park Road), this out-and-back, rail-to-rail half marathon kicks off at 9:00 am and starts runners fast down the Peavine, looping around Watson Lake followed by the Granite Dells before heading back towards the start line to finish. With a total elevation gain of nearly 1000 feet, this course is challenging, to say the least. At mile 3.5 to mile 8, however, runners can expect a drastic elevation drop. However, remember that what goes down must go back up, and that’s exactly what runners experience from mile 8 to the finish line. With two aid stations and one checkpoint throughout the course, runners are encouraged to also come prepared to be self-sufficient, not merely due to the number of aid stations but due to the challenging nature of the course and the expected Arizona temperatures on race day.
