Run along a crushed limestone gravel trail that’s designed to be easier on the knees and joints than ordinary road races, the Memorial Medical Center WhistleStop Marathon & Half Marathon marks its 25th annual running along the Tri-County Corridor, a 60-mile-long rails-to-trails project that spans from the lakeshore Wisconsin town of Superior all the way to Ashland.
Famous also for being both fast and flat, the point-to-point course takes runners from the nearby town of Moquah along the corridor all the way to the finish line at the Railyard Park in Ashland.
