Tuesday, September 1, 2020 – Wednesday, September 30, 2020 • Grand Forks, ND • Course Map

Note: The 2020 race is a virtual event. Registration details are included below.

Set for its 9th annual running this year along the banks of the Red River in the eastern part of the state, the Wild Hog Grand Forks Half Marathon features a unique set of relays in addition to individual 13.1-mile, 10K and 5K races — runners can choose among a 2-person, 3-person and even a 13-person relay for the half marathon. As of 2016 runners will be able to run in the event’s full marathon as a race option.

Runners will start the race at the southern end of the city and begin by making their way through the residential streets of Grand Forks, heading along a route that’s mostly flat and fast throughout.

Past the mile 4 marker, runners cross over into East Grand Forks, Minnesota, for the middle miles of the race. Just before mile eight, runners return to North Dakota by crossing over the Point Bridge and the Red River. Runners will then go through Lincoln Park and will pass by the Lincoln Golf Course.

After looping through the park, runners will then make their way south along Belmont Road, a quaint and beautiful residential area. Before they know it, the busy environment of the Grand Forks downtown area will engulf the marathoners, offering views of various buildings, statues, and more.

Heading south, runners will again find themselves on a residential street that is quiet and lined with plenty of trees. Eventually the race returns back to the Wild Hog Smokehouse Bar & Grill, where the finish line awaits.
