Overview

The 13th annual Wolf Creek Trail Run returns on Saturday, April 19, 2025, hosted by the Poplar Bluff Kiwanis Club with U.S. Forest Service support. This springtime trail classic features a scenic Half Marathon, 6 K, and a 1.7 Mile Walk, all winding through the picturesque Ozark National Forest along Forestry Road 3107.

Expect a challenging but rewarding route: the half marathon begins at 8:00 AM, with a 3 hour 15 minute cutoff, while the 6 K and walk start at 9:30 AM. The trail is mostly packed earth and gravel, with gentle inclines and peaceful woodland stretches. Runners benefit from two well-placed aid stations in the half, plus an additional drop at a key intersection .

What sets Wolf Creek apart is its community-first vibe, centered around raising funds for Kiwanis Bacon Memorial Park. Every participant—regardless of distance—receives a shirt and medal, with age-group awards for the 6 K and finishers’ medals for half marathoners. Add a generous race-day price of $35–40 (with $5 late-registration fee), and it’s friendly on both the body and budget .

The final stretch loops past serene creek views, where spectators and volunteers offer encouragement, creating a supportive finish-line atmosphere. It’s a spring trail treat—a modest adventure through native Missouri forests, perfect for trail newcomers and seasoned runners alike.
