The York Marathon and Half Marathon, a chip-timed, Boston Qualifying event hosted by the Arthur J. Glatfelter Branch YMCA, takes place in York, PA. The race starts at the Arthur J. Glatfelter Branch YMCA and concludes at Lafayette Plaza in the heart of the City of York. The flat course begins on city streets and leads to the York County Heritage Rail Trail, which has a compacted crushed stone surface. There are water stations with Gu gels. Dogs and strollers are not allowed on the course.
The post-race celebration offers food and beverages at the finish line, including sandwich wraps, fruits, snacks, chocolate milk, iced tea, and lemonade. Proceeds go towards supporting the YMCA. All finishers get a medal, and those who register by the deadline get a T-shirt. Awards go to the top male and female finishers among age groups.
