With a net downhill of 393 feet, the Ghost Town Half Marathon in Black Lick, Pennsylvania is a great course to set a new PR. The course is held on the Ghost Town Trail, with the starting line at Dilltown and the finish line at Saylor Park. The trail was rated as the third-best rails-to-trail path in Pennsylvania and offers beautiful views of Black Lick Creek.

3) Vail Valor Half Marathon • Vail, CO
The 2015 Vail Valor Races offer a multitude of distances on Memorial Day Monday, including a half marathon. Runners will enjoy rolling hills on a course that features moderate terrain through residential neighborhoods and along the Vail Bike Path, with picturesque views of the Gore Range to make this race extra-special. A portion of the registration fees will go towards the Vail Veterans Program, which supports injured military and their families.

The point-to-point course of the City Of Laguna Hills Memorial Day Half Marathon features rolling hills and travels through the Aliso and Wood Canyon Park. The paved course begins at the Memorial Medical Center and finishes at the Laguna Hills Community Center.

5) Memorial Day Marathon And A Half • Dallas, TX
Traversing loops around Bachman Lake, the Memorial Day Half Marathon is part of a series of races offered over the course of the Memorial Day weekend. Runners can choose to run one to three races Saturday through Monday and receive a medal for each day they finish a race.
Limited to just 75 entrants, the race begins at 5:00 AM and has no time limit — though smart runners will want to try to outchase the Texas heat.
