Overview

The Six‑Pack Series isn’t a typical race—it’s a progressive running challenge founded in 2012 in Westminster, expanding soon to Arvada. It’s designed to support novice runners with monthly distance increases: starting at 1 mile, then 3 mile, 5K, 4-mile, and culminating in a 10K by the sixth month.

In November 2026, the Arvada event returns with a 10K “Turkey Trek” and a new Half Turkey option, alongside the traditional 5K “Turkey Trot”, 2K Toddle, and fun holiday-themed challenges five miles of twisty trail climbs, a festive eggnog chug, hay-bale hops, and pie-eating along the way. This isn’t a PR course—it’s a bragging-rights adventure crafted for runners seeking both grit and holiday cheer.

“Are you up for the CHALLENGE?” – race promos cite eggnog and pie checkpoints as earned bragging rights.

This Arvada edition benefits Community Table, a local food bank, and includes festive finishes like a finisher mug, seasonal swag, and hoodies—a hearty holiday reward for participants and volunteers alike.

Course Description

This is not your run of the mill ‘Turkey Trot.’  This is the 10k Turkey TREK!  Are you up for the challenge?  Run a steady uphill climb to the summit of the course at the 3 mile mark.  Poised at the top of the hill is the infamous EGG NOG CHUG Challenge where racers (have the option) to chug 5 oz of eggnog.  (Those who ‘chug’ are entered to win a new pair of shoes!) It’s windy and wild at the top and the limitless views are UNMATCHED.  Run the ridge for a mile before starting the more gradual, yet still winding, descent down the east side of the mesa.  Once down the hill, racers encounter a relatively flat straight-away peppered with HAY BALES for the hay bale hop challenge.  Continuing the clock-wise loop back into the park, runners find the final challenge – just one kilometer from the finish: Fill Your Pie Hole Challenge.  A fresh portion of holiday pumpkin pie awaits racers there.  Once the pie is ‘down the hatch’, the joy of the finish line isn’t far away.  Is this a course on which to set a personal record?  Hah!  This is the course to BRAG about completing – with ALL of its holiday-themed challenges.  Are you ready to conquer it?
