PEACEHEALTH APPLETREE Marathon, First Responder Relay Marathon, Half Marathon & Sunset 5K takes place in Vancouver, Washington. There are a number of races at this event: the marathon, half marathon, First Responder’s Relay, and Sunset 5K.
Set along the Columbia River, participants will enjoy a flat and fast course that is eligible for Boston Qualifying times. Some notable sites include Fort Vancouver, Officer’s Row, and the oldest operating airport in the USA, Pearson Airport. There are regular water stations on the route with entertainment. The First Responder’s Marathon Relay, honoring the dedication of peace officers, health care professionals, firefighters, and military personnel, allows for teams with two to nine people on the marathon route.
Everyone gets a finisher’s medal and shirt. Marathon runners have the opportunity to earn a BEAST medal by racing both Saturday and Sunday. The winners of the relay get a special baton.
There will be a post-race party with music, food, and “all things APPLE”, including pie, bling, and more. There is free beer, courtesy of Backwoods Brewing Company.
