Set for its 42nd annual running in 2024 through the streets of this small city that lies just a short drive from nearby Fort Worth and the Dallas metropolitan area, the Azle Lake Run features a half marathon, 10K, 5K and one-mile fun run, all of which follow out-and-back routes that start and finish at the Azle High School football field.
The race takes runners on a winding, out-and-back route through this city of nearly 11,000 residents, which lies along the western edge of Eagle Mountain Lake just outside downtown Fort Worth, and is considered a suburban community of its much larger neighboring city. In fact, several of the streets runners make their way along during the race lie right on the shoreline of Eagle Mountain Lake.
Runners start the race in the parking lot of the Azle High School football field, and those running the half marathon head south along High Crest Dr and Park Street, followed by a stretch along Stribling Dr to Kimbrough Rd taking runners to Harbor Dr before heading to the coast to run along the water for miles 3 and 4.
