After the turn onto Harbor Drive, and onto Ash Ave, runners then make their way through the twists and turns of the neighborhood streets here near the shoreline of the lake.
The course winds through several streets multiple times in order to accumulate enough miles for the half marathon distance, so runners should know they’ll cover the same streets and see some of the same terrain through this section a number of times.
Once they make it back onto Harbor Drive around mile 11, the half marathon then re-joins the 9.9K course and follows it for the rest of the course, and back in to the race finish line back at the football field.
The race is run as a fundraiser for the locally based Eagle Mountain Pregnancy Center, Azle Community Caring Center, Azle Ministerial Alliance and the Roland Earl Scholarship and Follow the Flag programs.
Half Marathon Guide is the largest calendar and educational resource in the world for half marathon runners and enthusiasts with over 10,000,000 annual visitors.
