Set for its 14th annual running this year, the Bear Cupboard Run features both a half marathon and a 5K run, along with a Cubby Run open to children. The race will take place on the beautiful trails in the Northwoods and proceeds will go towards helping the Lakeland Pantry, and Wisconsin Nordic Development Group.

Course Description
The course will begin at the trailhead of the Bearskin State Trail off of Lakewood Rd. in Goodnow, which is located south of Minocqua. The course will take runners on the crushed gravel surface of the Bearskin trail, following a route that is relatively flat, with the exception of one short hill.
The trail follows an old abandoned railway and will give runners sites of woodlands, marshes, lakes, streams and several abandoned wooden railway trestles.
Runners will follow the point to point course northward to the finish line just past the final trailhead at Torpy Park. Along the way, runners will pass through Harshaw, Goodnow, S. Blue Lake, Hazlehurst and Rantz, before ending up at the Minocqua Brewing Company for the post-race party with food and refreshments.
The half marathon race is chip-timed and beings at 7:30 AM. Following the half marathon, the 5K will begin at 8:00 A.M., adjacent to Torpy Park on the Bearskin Trail. The chip-timed 5K race will feature an out and back course, which ends back at Torpy Park.
Runners are asked to maintain a 15 minute per mile pace in order to make the 3 hour cutoff time.
