Featuring a 1-mile loop around Menomonee Falls High School, the course is flat and fast, designed to be the perfect setting for runners aiming to qualify for Boston or set a new PR. Both the marathon and half marathon are USATF certified, with the full marathon serving as a Boston Qualifier, ensuring the legitimacy and competitive standard of the race.
The event is meticulously timed, with chip timing at the start and finish, and splits recorded every mile. Timing clocks display mile splits, aiding runners in maintaining their desired pace throughout the race. To keep spirits high and motivation strong, music and entertainment will be stationed along the course, countering the potential monotony of the looped format.
Due to the event’s structure, there is a course cutoff time of 10:30 am, allowing a maximum race time of 4 hours. Runners are advised to run the tangents to ensure the shortest and most efficient route, and slower participants or those wishing to walk are kindly asked to stay to the right to allow faster runners to pass easily.
Registration by August 17 guarantees a race shirt in the desired size, and all participants will be rewarded with a custom finisher medal, celebrating their achievement. The event also features a comprehensive awards program, recognizing the top performers across various categories, including overall male and female, masters, grand masters, and senior grand masters, as well as age groups ranging from 19 & under through 80+.
“I’m Bound for Boston” is not just a race; it’s an opportunity for the running community to come together in pursuit of their goals, whether that’s qualifying for the Boston Marathon, setting a personal record, or simply enjoying a competitive and supportive running environment.
